Age Calculator
Find your exact age in years, months and days, plus your age in the Hijri calendar, total days lived and a countdown to your next birthday.
النسخة العربية ↗How to use the age calculator
- Pick whether your birth date is Gregorian or Hijri.
- Enter your date of birth. The second date is set to today, but you can change it to find your age on any day, for example on an exam or visa date.
- Read your exact age, your Hijri age and the extra stats underneath: total days, weeks and hours, and how long until your next birthday.
How your age is calculated
Working out an age sounds simple until months of different lengths get involved. The calculator counts full years first, then full months, then the remaining days. If the day of the month has not yet been reached, it borrows the length of the previous month, the same way you would on paper.
Say you were born on 31 March 2000 and today is 13 October 2026. You have completed 26 years (31 March 2026), then 6 full months (30 September 2026), and 13 days remain. Total days lived are counted directly from one date to the other, so leap years are included automatically.
Why your Hijri age is higher
A Hijri year is about 11 days shorter than a Gregorian one, so the Hijri calendar ticks over faster. Someone who is 33 in Gregorian years is already about 34 in Hijri years. That difference matters in places where age limits are written in Hijri dates, for example some government forms in Saudi Arabia.
Handy ways to use it
- Checking eligibility for school entry, a driving licence or retirement.
- Filling in forms that ask for age on a specific date.
- Finding out which weekday you were born on.
- Planning a milestone, like your 10,000th day.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my exact age?
Enter your birth date and the tool shows years, months and days. It counts complete years, then complete months, then the remaining days.
Can I calculate age from a Hijri birth date?
Yes. Switch to “Born on a Hijri date”, enter the Hijri day, month and year, and you will see your age in both calendars.
Is my birth date saved anywhere?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser and nothing is sent to our servers.
Why is my Hijri age different from my Gregorian age?
Hijri years are about 11 days shorter, so you gain a Hijri year roughly every 354 days. Over three decades that adds up to an extra year.
How many days old am I?
Look at “Total days” under the result. It counts every day between your birth date and the selected date, including leap days.
